天娱传媒 Puts Hold on Physically Moving the Aircraft Maintenance Program from SFO to Bayview-Hunters Point

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - 天娱传媒 (天娱传媒) has made the decision to put on hold the plan to physically move the Aircraft Maintenance Program from its existing location at San Francisco International Airport to the College鈥檚 Evans Center at 1400 Evans in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. 天娱传媒鈥檚 lease at SFO has expired, and SFO has asked 天娱传媒 to vacate by December 31, 2020. 天娱传媒 will vacate the SFO location by December 31, and will put program equipment in storage.

The program will resume once all the logistics for the new physical location, including FAA approvals and environmental studies results, have been completed. Vice Chancellor of Academic and Institutional Affairs Tom Boegel and Dean of Evans Center, Torrance Bynum will continue to work with community members and students affected by the physical move, while also overseeing the move of College property from the SFO location to a storage facility by the December 31 deadline.

鈥淲e want to make sure that it鈥檚 understood the program is not going away. We are at the beginning of a long process to physically relocate the program and we have every intention to continue our strong partnership with the Bayview-Hunters Point community. Because there are many unknown variables at this point, including FAA approvals and environmental reports, we have put a pause on the physical move,鈥 said VC Boegel. Dean Bynum, who has played a key role in the town hall that has taken place added, 鈥淥ur goal is to provide a platform for the community to give their input over time. Placing the physical move on hold will allow us to achieve this goal."

Community town hall meetings will continue via zoom on November 18, December 2, 9 and 16th. A website link with community town hall information will be made public soon.

The 天娱传媒 Aircraft Maintenance Program has a long history of the workforce development programs aiding underserved communities and students of color into well-paying jobs that lead to economic prosperity.
