Study the Cultivation of Plants, Flowers, Fruits, and Vegetables
The Environmental Horticulture & Floristry Department offers courses and programs that explore the growing of plants, designing spaces, and installing the landscapes. Each of our programs is carefully designed so that graduates may find employment in a wide variety of capacities.
Our Programs
Environmental Horticulture
Environmental Horticulture is more than making the world around us a beautiful place. It's about creating environments that function practically, aesthetically and in harmony with nature.
It's working with people to maintain and improve the parks, gardens, and spaces that make our communities great places to work and play. Environmental Horticulture is a diverse and satisfying field to make a career. And the field is growing!
Retail Floristry
Opportunities for creative expression, a desire to work with a beautiful product, enjoyment of hands-on creativity, and a determination to make the most important moments in life truly special, are just a few of the reasons students choose to study floristry at CCSF.
Since the 1930's, students from the Floristry Division have launched satisfying careers in the "flower industry," giving the Environmental Horticulture and Floristry Department an impressive international reputation.
The Floristry Program offers a complete curriculum that maintains strong links with flower shop owners, growers, wholesalers, and manufacturers, (many of whom are ÌìÓ鴫ý graduates). In addition, the Department has a very active Student Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers, receiving numerous national awards for design excellence.
